In light of the hurricanes striking disaster throughout the country, it is essential that all people gather together to inspire good. Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria have caused pain and distress throughout the country. As Americans and humans it is our ingrained responsibility to help those in need.
Luckily, two fine athletes in their own right are working to inspire good in the Miami area. KINGS Dining & Entertainment Doral will be putting on a Hurricane relief benefit with the help of former Red Sox legend, David Ortiz, and Miami Heat superstar, Ray Allen. The event will take place on September, 27th at 6:30pm and all the proceeds will go to benefit those communities affected by the hurricane. The fundraiser will feature bowling, games, auctions and a variety of entertainment for guests in attendance. Kings features an award winning, executive-chef driven scratch kitchen, upscale Rum Room, 14 tenpin bowling lanes, private bowling suites, a full-service lounge and private dining spaces.
The Allen family owns and operates the restaurant, and with it they hope to serve healthy organic cuisine, with a “fast food” feel. It is important to the Allen family to help both families and businesses affected by the tragedy that has swept through our coastal cities.
Ortiz and Allen not only were friends respectively from their times in Boston, but David and his wife recently have moved to Miami. The hurricane cut’s especially deep for Ortiz as his home country of the Dominican Republic has been deeply affected by the course of events. Together Allen and Ortiz hope to affect positive change, and hope to create lasting good in their communities.
