News Bucs OTAs: DeSean Jackson among vets in attendance on Day 1

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicked off Day 1 of OTAs on Tuesday and although OTAs are voluntary and not required, most veteran players were still very much in attendance. Tampa Bay’s stud wide receiver DeSean Jackson is among the list of vets who got some reps in.

Jackson typically travels to California this time of the year to train on his own and works with a speed trainer during the summer so it was a bit surprising yet thrilling to see him working on perfecting his game and overall chemistry with Winston and Co. rather than doing his own thing in Cali until mandatory practices and training camp kick off. This move could certainly help their connection on immensely and the Bucs offense in general when they return to the field in their quest to the playoffs this fall.

So far, it appears the two are off to a solid start so far:
See who caught that deep ball from Winston?

Yep, DeSean Jackson is present and participating.

The players who were not in attendance for various reasons.are cornerback Brent Grimes, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, linebacker Kendell Beckwith and offensive tackle Demar Dotson. Rookie safety Jordan Whitehead was also out and is still dealing with the hamstring injury he suffered on the last day of Tampa Bay’s rookie minicamp.
