When I was invited to the combine it was a little shocking. Coming from Mount Union, a non-scholarship D3 school, I did not expect to even be recognized by the NFL. I knew we had a Pro Day and I figured that’s where I would take advantage of being in front of some scouts. I didn’t think I would go to the combine and be in front of every single scout. Then I found out I was the only D3 prospect invited to the draft.
I had a lot of pride coming from Mount Union and also representing Palm Beach County, I just wanted to perform for all of them, not even so much myself. I was excited because I knew my skill set and I knew I could only help myself with this invitation to the combine. Getting to the NFL is just as easy as being out of it, it’s being able to get to the NFL and stay there.
Overall I believe I did great at the combine, I felt great afterward that I only improved my stock and proved I deserved to be there. The only thing is I wish I could have done a little better in the 40-yard dash but just to be there was a blessing alone. I hoped that it would open the doors for more D2 and D3 prospects to be able to attend and be recognized.
