The 2019 season feels closer than ever as the NFL announced the full preseason schedule today for all 32 teams.
For the Chargers, their preseason slate begins on the road Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. The game marks the second-straight year the Bolts have opened the preseason in AZ. A two-game home stretch at Dignity Health Sports Park highlights Weeks 2 and 3 with games against the New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks. Kickoff for the nationally televised game against the Saints is set for 1:00pm PT on Sunday, August 18, and will air on CBS. Finally, the Bolts hit the road again to take on the San Francisco 49ers. That game marks the fourth time in five years the team concludes the preseason with a trip to Levi’s Stadium.
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS 2019 PRESEASON SCHEDULE
- WEEK 1 at Arizona Cardinals
- WEEK 2 vs. New Orleans Saints (Sunday, August 18 at 1:00pm PT on CBS)
- WEEK 3 vs. Seattle Seahawks

The exact dates and times of games against the Cardinals, Seahawks, and 49ers will be released at a later date; however, the games will air on KABC-TV (ABC7) in Los Angeles/Orange County.
While the preseason gives the team the first opportunity to take the field, it is also the ultimate job interview for players vying for spots on the 53-man roster. There truly is no bigger stage as the four-game slate has proved beneficial for players like Austin Ekeler and Adrian Phillips amongst others who impressed as undrafted rookies to make the active roster and carve out key roles within their respective units.
Although the preseason opponents are now official, the finalized preseason schedule as well as the regular season’s slate of games will be announced in a matter of weeks.
