David Ortiz moonlighted as a barber at Granite Telecommunications’ sixth annual Saving by Shaving event Wednesday at the company’s offices in Quincy.

Ortiz shaved Red Sox CEO and team president Sam Kennedy’s head while Massachusetts governor Charlie Baker received his own haircut alongside the two.

“The greatest Red Sox of all time,” Kennedy said as Ortiz shaved off his hair. “He’s enjoying this.”

Baker said before the event that they planned on raising “five or six million dollars” Wednesday.

“It’s a great opportunity for all of us to suffer a little bit of, what would we call this, a little bit of inconvenience,” Baker said in a Twitter video before the event. “And a little bit of ‘Oh my God, your hair’s grey,’ but we’re doing it for a great cause.”

Ortiz was not the only Boston athlete on the scene in Quincy Wednesday. Former Patriot Joe Andruzzi, a cancer survivor himself, had his head shaved.

Legendary Bruins defenseman and Hockey Hall of Famer Ray Bourque was also on hand.

Members of Major League Lacrosse’s Boston Cannons front office staff attended the event as well. Cannons owner Rob Hale is also the founder and CEO of Granite Telecommunications, as well as a co-owner of the Celtics.
