I know if you asked some the guys what they honestly thought about training camp, you’d get a lot of different answers. For me personally, I love this time of year. It is a really great feeling stepping out onto the field with the rest of my guys every day. Training camp is the time of year where we perfect our timing, build bonds with new teammates and get an idea of what kind of team we have. This year is one of our most promising yet.
It has been nice to get a lot of work in with all the new skills guys that we added in the offseason. Getting on the same page with these guys is key and I think we have been able to do that. It has been really useful for us to get reps in and to be able to get to talk through the scenarios that we will see in the regular season. Camp just slows things down and lets us focus on what we need to get accomplished.
Two of those new skill guys are tight ends that we drafted in April: Hayden and Mark. Tight end is a prominent position in our offense so I am glad we can get these guys acclimated early on. We ask a lot of our tight ends because it helps to add a lot versatility to both our run and pass game. I can’t wait to see how these guys develop as we get deeper into the season.
