Looking Back and Moving Forward

Heading into the bye we’re stuck between what was and what could be. We were off to a hot start at the beginning of the season and our offense was lights out. In our last two games we haven’t been quite good enough in any phase of the game. We know what we can do as a team, now we just have to find ways to execute like the team we know we are on a consistent basis.

At this point in the season it’s a great time for us to look around as a team so that we can do some self-scouting. We know that we have a ton of potential scattered all over this offense. The first two games of the year offered us flashes of that. The last two games revealed a lack of consistency and execution all over the team. No matter how explosive we are, it is hard to win if you keep beating yourself.

That’s one of the reasons why this bye week has come at the perfect time for us. The best thing we can do is to look at where we are missing the mark and work at addressing them. We have no opponent to focus on and all we have to do is to think through where we are and where we want to go. This way we can address our weaknesses mentally and we give ourselves a chance to correct those things next week when we play again.

We know we have a great team but it's up to us to take that knowledge and do something with it. We can’t just think about greatness, we have to be great in how we play. That starts today and that will put us on the course to getting into the playoffs.
