I remember the combine like it was yesterday, I was ready to show my talents in Indy. I have worked hard for this moment, coming from a JC and then playing at Boise I feel like I may not have been as recognized as most, so I had a little chip on my shoulder. That just motivated me at all times, to put my name in everyone’s mouth and kept their eyes on me.
When I got to Indy I was prepared, my training after the season was intense, I just focused on the drills they were going to ask of me and I felt like I just kept improving. I knew some of the questions around me were my speed off the ball and if I had enough of a variety of moves to get to the QB. I feel I addressed my speed at the combine and let teams know in my interviews that I’m ready to work.
I let them know that if they drafted me they will get a player who will never be satisfied, I will always keep working and crafting my skills. I definitely felt great after the combine, I was confident I made the right impression in my interviews and backed it up with my drills. I had no clue who would take me or when I would go but I knew I would make sure they wouldn’t regret it.
