It was on this date in 2011 that I hit my first MLB home run off of Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer. It was an unreal feeling to watch the ball leave the park and round the bases. I was definitely locked in that night because not only did I hit that home run, but I also got a single and a double. I fell just a triple short of hitting for the cycle.
That night went a long way for me feeling comfortable as a big leaguer. It is crazy to look back now and see not only what I have accomplished since then, but it is amazing to see what Max has done since then. To know that my first home run came against one of the best pitchers of my generation is a memory that I will not ever forget.
